Not Every iOS 27 Feature Works on Every iPhone
Being compatible with iOS 27 does not guarantee every feature. The newest features, Siri AI and Apple Intelligence, run only on the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 and later, iPhone Air, and iPhone Duo, according to Apple.
Other restrictions listed by Apple:
- Language: Apple Intelligence supports 16 languages, including English, Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Indonesian is not yet included, per the Apple page published October 22, 2026.
- Siri AI is still in beta and is available only in English for now. Apple says other languages are planned.
- Region and age: Siri AI is not initially available in the European Union, is unavailable in China, and is not available to users under 13.
- Custom Siri voices are limited to the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo, iPhone 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air.

How to Update to iOS 27 Safely
The iOS 27 update is free and runs through the Software Update menu. The most important step is to back up your iPhone first. Apple itself lists backing up as the first step in its Update your iPhone guide.
1. Back up your iPhone to iCloud (Apple's guide):
- Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi.
- Open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud.
- Tap iCloud Backup, then Back Up Now.
- Keep your iPhone connected to Wi-Fi until the backup finishes.
If you don't have enough iCloud storage, back up to a computer.
2. Install iOS 27:
