- Agents must complete 24 hours of Continuing Education to include 3 in Ethics every 2 years

- 3 hours in Ethics.
- Must obtain a minimum of five (5) hours specific for each line of authority for which you are licensed. The following lines are "one" line of authority: Variable Life/Variable Annuity, Life, Credit Life, Accident, Health and Credit, Property, Casualty, Personal Lines, Credit Property and Credit Casualty.
- Newly enacted R.I.G.L. 27-34.2-21 provides for Producer Training Requirements. These requirements apply to all licensed producers who sell, solicit or negotiate long-term care insurance, and issuers (insurers) are responsible for assuring compliance and for maintaining records from which the Director may verify compliance. Licensed producers who had NOT been selling long-term care insurance on or before 7/3/07 must undergo training on or before 01/01/08 if they wish to sell long term care insurance policies after that date. Licensed producers who had been selling long-term care insurance on or before 7/3/07 must undergo training before 07/03/08.
- All Rhode Island property insurance producers must complete a one-time course related to the NFIP Flood requirement. The producer licensee will receive three hours of continuing education credits for completion of this course.

- Agents must compete there continuing education by the end of their birth month biennially
|
- You may carry forward no more than twenty-four (24) credits from the prior licensing period.

- Courses may not be taken more than once in a compliance period.
|
- Continuing education courses may be either monitored self-study or open book self-study or maybe completed in classroom.

- Self study courses with CEIS have been approved as non monitored courses so the Agent must pass a non-monitored examination (if taking CEIS self-study courses).
Some schools courses are monitored examination.
- If the courses taken is a classroom courses there is no examination.
