Hours
  • Agents & Adjusters must complete 15 hours of Continuing Education including 3 hours of Ethics annually if licensed less than 20 years.
  • Resident Agents must complete 10 hours of Continuing Education and 3 hours of Ethics annually if licensed more than 20 years.
  • CE hours must be completed in the Line of Insurance in which the Agent is licensed.
Requirements
  • Public Adjuster and Independent Adjuster: Public Adjuster, Independent Adjuster is required to complete 15 credits including 3 hours of Ethics. Adjusters can complete any Property & Casualty courses.
  • Workers Compensation Adjuster Only are to completed 10 hours of approved CE thru WC Board (no Ethics required) CEIS does not offer Adjuster courses for Workers Compensation
  • Agents who sell, solicit, or negotiate Long Term Care Insurance are required to complete a Long Term Care course. No follow up refresher course to sell Long Term Care Insurance is required by the State of Georgia at this time.
Compliance Date
  • Every Agent must complete their Continuing Education before December 31st each year.
  • All renewal must be filed by November 1st each year. Renewal received after November 1st, but before the December 31st deadline must submitted a $15.00 late fee. If not received by the December 31st deadline the Agents license will expire.
Excess Hours
  • Agents can carry over 50% of their hours to the next compliance period. Excess Ethics hours will be carried over as regular CE hours.
Course Repetition
  • Courses may not be taken more than once in a 5 year period, except on current issues, ethics or legislative updates.

Course Presentation

  • Continuing education courses may be self-study, online or classroom.
Examination
  • Self Study Correspondence Books with a paper examination require a Monitored exam.
  • Monitor Description: The monitor must be a disinterested third party (someone who is not family or employment, non-insurance, related.)
  • Interactive On-Line Courses - Do not require a Monitored Exam because the Agent completes the entire course on the Internet. The Agent must pass a Chapter Quiz at the end of each Chapter.
  • The Final exam at the end of the Interactive On-Line requires no Monitor.

All completed credits are reported on line to Sircon
