Hours
  • Effective January 1, 2008 - Missouri Producers licensed for any major line of Authority will be required to complete (16) hours of continuing education during any two-year licensure period.
Requirements
  • Producers whose licenses expire January 1, 2009 or later will be required to complete 3 credit hours of Ethics. The Ethics (3 credits ) will be part of the 16 credit hours required every two years.
  • All the hours must be taken in the same lines as your license.
  • Producers licensed for multiple lines of authority are not required to divide the Educational hours evenly between the lines of authority in which qualified
  • This legislation also mandates that all qualified excess hours earned as Continuing education accumulated during any two-year period may be forward to the two-year period immediately following the two-year period.
  • Title Agents are required 8 credit hours biennially on the anniversary date of Issuance of the license.
  • If Agents have a Life & Health and a Property & Casualty License they may take their CE in either Life & Health or Property & Casualty Courses.
  • Property Producers must complete a one-time course related to National Flood Insurance Program requirement. The course must provide at least 3 hours of continuing education credit. Completing this course will satisfy FEMA requirements and you will receive 8 hours of Continuing Education.
  • Agents who sell, negotiate or solicit Long Term Care Insurance are required by your insurance carrier to complete a Long Term Care Partnership Course. Completing this course you will satisfy your LTC carrier and you will receive 8 hours of Continuing Education credit. A refresher course of 4
Compliance Date
  • License renewal date is the license issuance date, biennially.
Excess Hours
  • Excess hours maybe carried over to the next 2 year period.
Course Repetition
  • Courses cannot be taken more than once in a 2 year period.

Course Presentation

  • Continuing Education maybe either self study or classroom.
Examination
  • Self Study requires a monitored exam. Classroom requires attendance.
