• Agents must complete 24 hours of Continuing Education every 2 years. A licensee may choose to take all or part of their continuing education courses as correspondence, self-study or distance learning

• Agents must complete 3 hours in Ethics.
• At least 6 hours must be directly related to one or more of the Agents active line of authority.
• Property agents selling flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program must complete a one-time 3 hour course on flood insurance. CEIS’s cousre will satisfy your FEMA requirement and give you 12 ce hours.
• Agents with a line of authority of Life / Health and who sell, solicit or negotiate Long Term Care Insurance must complete an 8 hour LTC Partnership course to satisfy the requirements of there LTC insurance carrier. The Long Term Care Insurance Partnership course pertains strickly to Kentucky’s Basic Long Term Care Eligibility Criteria requirements. Producers can receive on going training of no less than 4 credit hours of Long Care Insurance according to their CE/Licensing Renewal Cycle.

• A total of 24 hours of continuing education must be completed every 2 years, a biennium begins on the first day of the month following your birth month and ends on the last day of your birth month (2) years later.
• Agents born in an odd year must complete their continuing education by the end of there birth month every odd year.
• Agents born in an even year must complete their continuing education by the end of there birth month every even year.

• A maximum of 12 credit hours may be carried over to the next compliance period.

• Courses may not be taken more then once in a 2 year period.

• Continuing education courses may be either self-study or classroom.

• If the course taken is self-study the Agent must pass a non-monitored examination.
• If the courses taken is a classroom courses there is no examination.
